Higi’s Care Everyday program collaborates with Aetna Better Health of Illinois to expand member access to its hypertension management program

Chicago, IL — June 18, 2026 — Illinoisans living with hypertension will now have greater access to appropriate care and support following the launch of “Care Everyday” for eligible members of Aetna Better Health® of Illinois, a CVS Health® company. The Care Everyday platform offers virtual care management supportive services at home for people living with complex care needs, including hypertension, combining the capabilities of Higi and VRI, both subsidiaries of Modivcare. The program, which brings together Higi’s clinical model and VRI’s legacy monitoring solutions under a cohesive structure, is designed to provide personalized, clinically appropriate support to members living with hypertension, helping them better manage their condition through coordinated supportive services.

The Care Everyday program delivers tailored clinical monitoring and supportive management services for members diagnosed with hypertension, pairing connected devices with risk appropriate virtual clinical support and working in coordination with each member’s primary care provider (PCP) and Aetna Better Health of Illinois care managers. The Care Everyday platform operates under the supervision and oversight of an affiliated 50 state clinical network and care team. By aligning care teams and leveraging Care Everyday’s integrated platform, the program aims to close gaps in care, improve medication adherence and reduce the risk of serious complications associated with uncontrolled blood pressure, while supporting performance on key HEDIS quality measures.

Hypertension remains one of the most prevalent chronic conditions in the United States and disproportionately affects underserved communities. In Illinois, where Aetna Better Health of Illinois serves more than 350,000 Medicaid members across 102 counties, many individuals face barriers to consistent care, contributing to higher rates of unmanaged hypertension and related health risks.

The Care Everyday program addresses these challenges by providing continuous support beyond traditional clinical settings, including 24x7x365 monitoring of blood pressure and personalized care management services to help members stay on track with their care plans. This approach is particularly important in communities where access to preventive care and chronic disease management resources may be limited.

“As we continue to expand our relationship with Aetna Better Health of Illinois, we are focused on delivering solutions that meet members where they are and address some of the most pressing care needs impacting their health,” said Jeff Bennett, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer of Modivcare and President of Modivcare’s Monitoring service line, which includes both Higi and VRI. “Hypertension is a leading driver of serious health complications, yet it is highly manageable with the right support. Through Care Everyday, we are helping members take control of their health by connecting them to coordinated, personalized care that improves outcomes and reduces risk under our clinical model.”

“At Aetna Better Health of Illinois, we’re focused on making it easier for our members to access the care and support they need to manage chronic conditions,” said Melanie Fernando, CEO, Aetna Better Health of Illinois. “By bringing personalized, clinically appropriate hypertension support directly into members’ homes, we’re helping remove barriers to care, improve health outcomes and empower individuals to take an active role in their long-term well-being.”

As the program launches ahead of Father’s Day, it also highlights the importance of men’s health. Hypertension is often referred to as a “silent condition” and is a leading risk factor for heart disease and stroke — conditions that disproportionately affect men. By engaging members early and supporting ongoing management, the Care Everyday program plays a critical role in helping reduce these risks and promote healthier lives, giving families more time to celebrate and enjoy the fathers and father figures in their lives.

Aetna Better Health of Illinois offers value-added benefits and best practices that have proven positive results in utilization, health gap closures and member satisfaction. For more information about Aetna Better Health of Illinois, visit www.aetnabetterhealth.com/illinois-medicaid.
